“More Loyal Than Family”

Proverbs 18:24, CEB – There are persons for companionship, but then there are friends who are more loyal than family.

                Today, I simply hold up the supreme value of a real friend.  These people are rare.  As the proverb implies, there are lots of people who you can simply pass the time.  These companions are a blessing to be sure.  But then, there are friends, real friends.  They stick with you when the fun stops.  They check on you when everyone else hasn’t noticed anything is off.  They show up when others are running away.  And as the proverb states, they are more loyal than even family.

                The tendency though is to take them for granted.  We don’t let them know how much they mean to us.  So today, take some time to do just that.  Contact that real friend of yours and tell them what a blessing they are to you.  When we have real friends like this Proverbs speaks of, it should inspire us to BE real friends as well.  Happy friend day!
