Philippians 2:12-13, CEV
My dear friends, you always obeyed when I was with you. Now that I am away, you should obey even more. So work with fear and trembling to discover what it really means to be saved. 13 God is working in you to make you willing and able to obey him.
1 Timothy 4:7-10
Train yourself for a holy life! 8 While physical training has some value, training in holy living is useful for everything. It has promise for this life now and the life to come. 9 This saying is reliable and deserves complete acceptance. 10 We work and struggle for this: “Our hope is set on the living God, who is the savior of all people, especially those who believe.”
This week, we’ve been talking about the power and discipline of prayer which is central among the all the spiritual disciplines. However, the other disciplines are still very important and deserve our attention. The following graphic list some of these practices:

While the above are the classic disciplines referred to by the Bible and by the most revered Christian teachers over the ages, other practices such as gratitude, forgiveness, generosity and journaling have also proven to be incredibly helpful in moving forward in our faith. The truth is that dozens of regular practices are possible, but the point is that none of them work unless you work them. They are called practices and disciplines for a reason.
What is the condition of your faith? More importantly, is your faith growing and/or moving forward? If not, try adding a spiritual practice to your regular routine. It can take some considerable energy to start and establish the habit, but once installed, you will be surprised at the results!
Prayer: Lord, lead me to the practices that will deepen my relationship with you and strengthen my service to Your Kingdom. A,en.
