1 Thessalonians 5:11 (NIV) — “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”
When we share our faith, we’re not only speaking words — we’re offering hope, support, and encouragement. Every act of encouragement plants a seed that can grow in someone else’s life, often in ways we cannot see. Sometimes the smallest word or gesture becomes a lifeline in someone’s darkest moment.
Encouragement is contagious. When one person speaks hope into another’s life, it often inspires that person to encourage someone else. Faith-sharing isn’t always about a formal conversation; sometimes it’s as simple as reminding someone they are loved, praying for them openly, or sharing a scripture that has lifted you in difficult times.
When we build each other up, we mirror God’s heart. He is the ultimate encourager, and as His people, we get to participate in His work. The joy of knowing you’ve brightened someone’s day, strengthened their faith, or reminded them of God’s presence is an immeasurable blessing — both to them and to you.
Practical Step: This week, look for one person who seems weary, discouraged, or lonely. Offer an encouraging word, a handwritten note, or a prayer — and remind them of God’s faithfulness.
Prayer: Lord, help me be an encourager to those around me. Let my words and actions lift someone’s spirit and remind them of Your love and presence. Amen.
