Vow 3: Confessing Jesus as Savior and Lord

Scripture:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” — Proverbs 3:5
To confess Jesus as Savior is to acknowledge that we cannot save ourselves. Many people carry private burdens of shame, fear, or self-reliance—hoping their effort or performance will secure peace. But Jesus invites us to trust His grace, not our goodness. This vow begins with surrender: “I cannot heal my own heart—but Jesus can.”
Serving Jesus as Lord means more than admiration—it means orientation. His words guide our decisions, His love shapes our identity, and His mission directs our lives. When Jesus is Lord, He becomes the reference point for everything else—our relationships, values, priorities, and purposes.
This vow calls us to a deep, holy dependence. It asks us to release the illusion of control and rest in God’s steady, saving hands. The more we trust Him, the more we find ourselves becoming who we were made to be. Trust is the soil where spiritual growth blossoms.
And when we step into this trust, we discover something profound: Jesus never asks us to follow Him without also promising to be with us. He doesn’t call from a distance—He walks beside us. He guides, strengthens, forgives, restores, and leads.
Practical Step:
Pray: “Jesus, I trust You more than I trust myself. Lead me today.”

Closing Prayer:
Jesus, my Savior and Lord, I place my trust in You. Teach me to rest in Your grace instead of striving in my own strength. Lead me in every step I take today. Shape my heart, my thoughts, and my choices so that my life reflects Your love. Amen.
