Disciples’ Path Day 4 — Invested in the Mission

Vow 5: Strengthening the Ministries of the Church

Scripture:
“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others.” — 1 Peter 4:10

Every church has two kinds of people: consumers and contributors. This vow calls us to be contributors—to invest our gifts, energy, and presence into the mission God has entrusted to this church.

Strengthening the church doesn’t require perfection; it requires willingness. God uses ordinary people with ordinary gifts to create extraordinary impact. When God’s people say “I’m here, and I want to help,” the Spirit breathes life into the whole community.

This vow also teaches us that ministry is shared. Pastors shepherd, but the church thrives when every member participates.

And in strengthening the church, God strengthens us. Serving builds joy, purpose, connection, and spiritual maturity. Investing in the mission deepens our discipleship.

Practical Step:
Choose one ministry or area of service to intentionally strengthen this week.

Closing Prayer:
Father, thank You for placing me in this church. Show me where I can strengthen Your work here. Give me a willing spirit, a generous heart, and joyful hands. Use my gifts—no matter how small—to build up Your people and advance Your mission. Amen.
