Vow 7: Receiving & Professing the Christian Faith in Scripture

Scripture:
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” — Psalm 119:105
Our final vow grounds us in Scripture. We do not invent our beliefs; we receive them from the story God has revealed in Scripture.
Rooting ourselves in Scripture shapes our thinking, values, decisions, and identity. In a noisy world, Scripture becomes our anchor.
This vow calls us to profess Scripture—to let it become the lens through which we see the world and the story we share with others. We don’t just read the Word; we embody it.
When we root ourselves deeply in Scripture, we join generations of believers who found hope, strength, and identity in God’s Word.
Practical Step:
Choose a passage (Psalm 23, Romans 8, John 15, or Philippians 4:4–9) and meditate on it slowly today.

Closing Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the gift of Your Word. Open my heart to receive it deeply and live it faithfully. Let Scripture shape my thoughts, guide my steps, and anchor my soul. Help me profess Your truth with humility and courage. Amen.
