Love That Chooses to be Vulnerable

Scripture:
“God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” — Romans 5:8

Love always involves risk. To love is to open oneself to rejection, misunderstanding, and pain. And yet, Scripture tells us that God does not protect Himself from vulnerability — He embraces it. The incarnation itself is an act of holy risk: God entering human life fully, with all its fragility.

This is the paradox of love: the strongest love does not shield itself behind power, but steps forward in humility. Christ’s life reveals that love is not weakness — it is courage. Love chooses presence over protection, closeness over control.

When we understand love this way, it reshapes how we relate to one another. Love asks not how to stay safe, but how to stay faithful. It invites us to be present, even when outcomes are uncertain.

Application:
Reflect on one relationship where love might be calling you toward greater openness or honesty.

Sentence Prayer:
Lord, give me the courage to love with the vulnerability You have shown me.

40 Days of Gratitude Reminder:
Thank God today for someone who has loved you with courage and tenderness.
