Weekday Word w/ Eric

The Close-up Love of God

Scripture:
“And the Word became flesh and lived among us.” — John 1:14

Tonight is Christmas Eve — a night filled with paradox. Darkness and light share the same space. Silence and song intertwine. And at the center of it all is this staggering truth: God does not remain distant. God comes close.

The paradox of love is revealed most clearly tonight. The infinite becomes intimate. The eternal enters time. The Creator chooses to dwell among creation. Love does not shout from heaven; it whispers from a manger. God’s love arrives not as explanation, but as presence.

Christmas Eve reminds us that love is not abstract. It has hands and feet. It can be held. It can be shared. It can be trusted. And it meets us exactly where we are — not where we wish we were.

Application:
As you prepare for worship tonight, pause and ask God to help you receive His nearness with openness and trust.

Sentence Prayer
God-with-us, help me welcome Your love into the reality of my life tonight.

40 Days of Gratitude Reminder:
Give thanks this evening for the gift of God’s presence — here, now, and with you.
