Weekday Word w/ Eric

The Power of Ordinary Moments

Scripture: Deuteronomy 6:6-7

“These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children.”

One of the most surprising truths about spiritual influence is that it usually grows in ordinary moments rather than extraordinary ones. We often imagine that great faith is formed through dramatic events, but Scripture repeatedly points us toward daily practices and everyday conversations.

Moses instructed God’s people to talk about God’s commands while sitting at home, walking along the road, lying down, and getting up. In other words, faith was not meant to be confined to the sanctuary. It was meant to be woven into the rhythms of life.

Some of the most important conversations in our lives happen around dinner tables, in car rides, on front porches, or during routine moments that seem insignificant at the time. Looking back, we often realize those ordinary moments were shaping us in ways we never recognized.

God the Great Tapestry Weaver delights in using simple acts of faithfulness to create something beautiful over time. A prayer offered consistently. A word of encouragement. A habit of worship. A life lived with integrity. These small threads become part of a much larger story.

Never underestimate what God can do through ordinary faithfulness.

Application:
Identify one daily habit that could become an opportunity for spiritual influence and intentionally use it this week.

Prayer:
Lord, help me see the sacred possibilities hidden within ordinary moments. Use my daily life to reflect Your grace and truth. Amen.
